HUGE Difference! Just put your foot down and it's keeps going & going. I would show you if I lived nearer to you. Defiantly worth getting yours set up though :) You won't regret it.

It averages 0 - 60 in 7.4 seconds using just 1st & 2nd and changing up at 7000 rpm, and 8.5 using 1st, 2nd & 3rd and changing up at 6500 rpm. That's with around 115 bhp at 6400 rpm. Of course, wheelspin is the problem. I run a SC CR gearbox with a 3.9:1 FDR.

The old 998 Cooper had a 3.76:1 FDR and with 55 bhp it could do 0 - 60 in around 16 seconds. The original 1275 'S' with 75 bhp had a 3.76 FDR which was soon changed as standard to 3.44. It gave around 11 seconds 0 - 60 which in 1964 was stunning.
Still, the 998 is a very smooth engine and will cruise all day at 4000 rpm+.

I hope none of you is relying on the speedo to give an accurate indication of speed. It is quite likely that the speedo reads 10% high.
I use my accurately calibrated rev counter.

Got my 1130 to 145 the other day ( clocked by GPS ) That's with a 3.1FD, didn't think to look at the tach.
