The 'box on the left of your photo has the wrong type of remote gear change for a mini. That is one from a Morris/Austin 1100/1300

I took picture of any numbers/letters on the engines and gearboxes. I tried the gues works site but can't figure it out. The both have a 12A in the block, so am I right to assume they are 1275 A+ engines?

They are definately not A+. The 10H791 engine is from an 1100cc Clubman. The other engine with the 22G68 G/B casing is a very early 3 synchro box but with the 1100/1300 remote and the 1100/1300 engine mounting plate so it is probably from an early Morris/Austin 1100 (did they sell them in the US).

I know one is out of an Mk1.
The guy I got it from said it was in his Mini when he bought it.
The other is supposed to have been rebuilt and was going to be swapped.
he ended up going vtec route.

Im wondering if it would be worth putting effort into an engine swap
With my 998. The one with the remote has been rebuilt, but mine has a rod.

I'm looking to get a bit more power and pickup. I have most of
the components for a stage one for the 998.

I have 4to extra carbs and 3sets of intake/exhaust manifolds fo the othee 2 engines

I have the engine and box with the old remote gear selector fitted in my Clubman, I changed the output shafts in the gearbox to convert to pot joints. The remote will fit in the tunnel with some drilling of a few new bolt holes for the rear rubber mount.
