hi, im new to the forum and part way through a resto on a 1972 mini. at present its the original 850 engine with magic wand change. i would like to change engine for a 998 unit from a later car. is it poss to retain the magic wand change on newer engine? can i swap gearboxes over? thanks

Not expert on the magic wand box (though my dad had one years ago) but yes you can swap the engine-box as longs as you're using an A series engine, a later A+ series engine wont match the early gearbox...
