Its a case of adjusting the nut on the hilo trumpet to lower or raise the car,

at the back its a ratio of 1:5 and the front is 1:3

so yeah there is a "thread" its on the trumpet ;)

Guessing you already have them fitted, adjusting is a doddle.

First thing, get a careful measurement of each wheel and note down how much you need to lower / raise by.
For the front wheels, divide the figure by 3 and for the rear divide by 5. This is how much shorter / longer you need to adjust the hi-lo.

You'll need 2 spanners to adjust them, size will differ based on which type of hi-lo you have fitted.
To adjust the fronts, you can do it with the wheel on. Left lock will give you access to the right one and vice versa.
Just slacken the lock nut (while holding the threaded nut (lower one) in place) and then wind down / up the distance noted previously.
Retighten the lock nut and you're done. Repeat for the other side.

For the rear you'll need to take the wheel off, the exhaust (if you have side mount) will get in the way on one side and the battery box will on the other, but the same technique applies.

:)

depends what type of hilo you have

the early ones needed a big allen key threaded through the subframe into the hilo the later ones just had a nut on a threaded bar

Yeah I knew which thread you were talking about, I was being an ass :P and take off a back wheel and it's right there where the trumpet would be and the thread is visible then just adjust it as mentioned above same for the front but you have to go lock to lock to do each side

Ok seems pretty easy and the amount i want when measuring gos from the top of the centre of the wheel arch (the real bit not and arch put on) to the top or cenrre of the wheel

Measuring wise, stick a measure between the top centre arch (whichever bit will hit first :P) and wheel, decide what you want to drop it by and divide the figure, 3 for the front and 5 for rear.

Have my back wheels off at the min, so here's a massive hi lo pic as I cant resize on my phone...

And then i turn that bolt but the silver trumpet how many times is needed for the distance to the trumpet that ive just firgured out right?? So im guessing yours is pretty low

Nut nearest the trumpet is the lock nut, loosen that so you can wind the other in/out.
Once you have your measurement divided by 3/5 that's how far the nut needs to be wound in/out.
Measure its distance from the trumpet and then adjust the amount needed.

Once its in position hold it still, while tightening the lock nut back against the trumpet. Repeat on other wheels.

I think that's what you just said, if so, yes :)
Mine is only slightly lowered currently, the spring coils are larger than rubber donuts which is why the hi-Lo is wound right in.

Will be cutting them down later.

So the closer the nut is to the trumpet or the nut closest to thectrumpet the lower the car
