right they are on bare metal, going to my dads (200 miles) there and back, will they last that long??? havent got the money for new ones what do i do!!!

Don't do it. Not safe, you won't have the breaking distances, it won't break evenly.It will cause more damage to you breaking system.

If its discs you may have to go the next day route on mail order through mini spares are similar, pads you local halfrauds should have them.
As for changing the discs I've never changed the myself, but the worse case I've heard is the hubs off and get them removed that way.
The only other option is just change the pads now, take plenty of brake fluid. As you may find if the discs are damaged they'll eat the pads, then do a full overhaul when you get back.
