As title says, how would I go about modifying the mini hub to take the later metro ball joint, the sealed type without the shims?

You wouldn't.


You can buy aftermarket hubs from verious companies that have the mini geometry but metro joints.. Kad, minisport, specialist components etc,

Ah, I see.

Probably cheaper to just get a set of metro hubs then, and adjust the suspension accordingly.
