As usual the rest of my pictures can be found on Photobucket

All in all it was a good day despite the constant rain in the afternoon, a great selection of Clubmans and 1275GTs, and plenty of other rare cars.

Great pic's.

Was meaning to go but i felt a little cheated that you have to pay for parking and then pay to enter the show....so made up some lamp brackets at home instead!

Mega clean engine bay on an Orange Clubby!!!!!

I use a Fuji FinePix S200 EXR and a Canon 500D. I had a 18-135mm Canon lens on the 500D yesterday. The pictures with the richer colour were taken with the Fuji.

Hello,

Thanks for posting those superb pics!!! The 2nd Mini Clubman & 1275gt weekend on the 18th & 19th August at Tatton Park Cheshire was another great success with 44 different Clubmans attending over the two days. A fantastic array of the rare 'square nosed' Mini's came along. On display were examples to suit all tastes from extreme performance models to exact factory specification. The 'Classic Mini' section of this massive Classic Car event in Cheshire attracted huge interest from the many thousands of visitors to the show.

The event had been advertised on TV the week before so we knew it was going to be very busy! So many Mini's arrived in convoy it became very difficult at one point to 'separate out' the Clubmans, so some did end up parking in the 'standard Mini' area but this didn't seem to spoil the effect of so many Clubmans in one location. Lots of Mini's arrived, but hadn't realised the event was pre entry only, there were 11 Clubmans on the public car park on the Sunday, such a shame they hadn't pre entered this free to exhibit event!!

Steve Andrews from Manchester was exhibiting his newly restored 1974 Tundra Green Mini Clubman saloon, he was absolutely 'stunned' when a visiting member of the public offered him an astonishing £7,000 cash for his car! Steve said " I really don't want to sell it, but it's great to know all my efforts weren't wasted restoring a Clubman". It just goes to show a carefully restored example of even the standard Clubmans are very desirable to the collector.

Fifteen trophies were awarded on both show days to 3rd place, to Best Clubman Saloon, Estate, 1275gt and Best Modified with more trophies for the 60 plus other variants of the Classic Mini, including vans, pick ups, coopers, specials and convertibles. This 'special feature display' by popular demand will become an annual event and is probably the only special event for the Classic Mini Clubmans in the world!!

At presentation time the main event organisers 'Cheshire Auto Promotions' said they were 'thrilled' with our 'Special Mini Display' and thanked all the owners and Mini Clubs involved, I'm looking forward to and planning next years 'Clubman & 1275gt Weekend already!! Thanks to all who attended.

Regards

The GT 850 is a Mini Marcos, no idea if it was an 850, I suspect not.

On the camera front it's very much down to personal choice. I got the Fuji a couple of years ago to replace a smaller version. It's what is known as a bridge camera as it is very much like an SLR, but does not have interchangable lenses. They are a good camera to learn the basics of picture taking but due to the smaller photo sensor they can be limited in what can be acheived.
I soon found this out when trying to shoot action stuff with it in poor light. When using higher ISO settings the pictures would suffer from what is known as noise, which is were the picture breaks down. This is why I got the Canon 500D. I got it from the Canon outlet shop on ebay for £260. It came with a 18-85 lens. Since then I have got the 18-135 and a 70-200.
There are various SLRs on the market and they all have their fans, especially the Canon and Nikon brands. If you have a camera in mind there are plenty of sites on the web with reviews to help when choosing.

My next canera will probably be a Canon 60D, but I want a 100-400 lens first.

Great pics, love the one with the Ferrari wheel in the background, even though a lot of the ferrari's there are MR2 replicas

The show was great this year, I debated not going with the rain and all but glad I did. In previous years there were only a few minis there but last couple of years its been great :D
