Many modern cars have keys where the actual metal key bit folds in and out of the plastic fob.

Has anyone modded their mini keys to do this? If not, any idea of how I could? aha. Fed up of carrying three keys to be honest with you. Clutters the pockets.

I have fitted these to a few cars recently, A MK3 golf, My Fiesta and I also have one on my Vauxhall. They really are fantastic and you'll love it if you do chose to do it.

I got the flip out key fob from VW/ford although they sell generic ones on Ebay, went to Timpsons and got them to cut me up a spare key, I cut the plastic "fob" bit off the end and screwed it into the hinge on the flip out fob.

All fairly simple and straight forward really.

And also gives you the incentive to fit R/C/L to your mini! I would do it on my mini, but needing 2 keys to start it would just make things a pain

It is fairly simple!

In the inge there is what is like a little screw on either side. if you buy a space key and cut it down you will be able to screw it into your new fold out fob.

You can get the R/C/L kits (with fold out keys) on ebay for around £20 and a set of Ford seolenoids can be linked up to your door locks, you will be able to fit it in a evening and you will have remote centeral locking.
