Hey ya'll,

This is my third time around owning a Mini. The first one, was my first car, a 1969 running on widened steelies and a 1300cc lump, twin carbs, massive exhaust, 96db stereo that was loud enough to blow the back windows open.

The second was a 71 Clubbie, called "project lemon" as it was yellow and rusty as an old tin can. Needless to say "project lemon" was a huge flop. Now 20 years after the first Mini experience I am back in.

This one is a one lady owner from new - 1981 Layland Mini City 1000, sold new in NZ, done 104K always garaged and serviced. Came with all records, including original sale agreement and manual. It is in great shape for a long term project, I paid a mint for it but Im happy (it has NO rust, none at all)

Now here are the plans...I know.... not very original but I love the look.
Body - 13x7's, original Sportpack arches, super fin/spaced drums (front and rear), hi-lo's, coil springs, gas shocks, tie rods, negative camber front and rear etc etc. Paint will stay as is just get shinier :D and lots of new chrome bits.

Lump - 1300cc reconditioned head, extractors and alloy inlet, reconditioned carb and high flow filter. A general tidy up.

Interior - Factory. All I did is line the floor with insulation/sound deadening.

Cheers

Air

Looks like a great tidy car.

Why not go for discs?

Thanks CobraV8, I probably will eventually end up with disks but with the initial 1500 price tag I can wait. There was other things I wanted to do first. I even just got factory cast drums, just spaced out.

N_Z_minis, yes I will lower it :D Im taking it to a specialist to set up the whole suspension correctly and part of that will be to lower it. I paid 6K for the car and I am glad I did....its in mint nik. I love it
