I have a 1994 1275cc mini mayfair (which is pretty much all standard as far as I can tell) and a couple of days ago my exhaust fell off. Getting it back on is easy enough (I will take it to a garage for this), but as the exhaust that fell off is a bit rusty and old I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to replace it with a nice, shiney new and upgraded one.
My problem is that I know absolutely nothing about exhausts or manifolds and do not know what the standard exhaust for my car is, let alone which ones will be better. Can anyone tell me/link me to the standard exhaust and manifold for my car so I can see I need to buy? And, if anyone can advise me on what counts as a better exhaust, and what extra stuff I would need to do/buy to get it fitted? I do not even know if my car has a catalyst converter or not, that is how much of a noobie I am with these things.
From browsing through the minispares website I can see that you get exhausts with different sized bores, is it just a case of bigger is better, or is there more to in that that? And if I go for a bigger bore do I need to do other stuff to my car to get this fitted? I just have absolutely no idea, so any help people can give me would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Miniature.
