Although not really needed you could try the Corsa electric one. A very popular conversion on other cars.

http://www.minitastic.co.uk/home1.htm here you go , most people find mini's steering fine , its harder to turn if you have a 10" wheel compared to a 13/14" wheel

you will need a
CORSA / COMBO ELECTRIC POWER STEERING COLUMN EPS AND CONTROL MODULE from same vehicle and one of these to control the speed sensor.

than you will need to do a small bit of fabrication and there you go.
powersteering in a mini. or any vehicle you want to install it in really

have a read of this

If you think a Mini needs power steering, try a Triumph TR4 or TR5 at low speed on more modern tyres.

Yes, I had a Rover 3500 V8 Auto with no P.S. and it sure was heavy at low speeds. At over about 90 mph it was superb and very easy to place the car through twisty bits. Fabulous car.
The Mini steering has always been regarded as great as it is and not heavy at all. If the steering seems heavy then the Mini is possibly toeing-out too much, or the driver has a strength issue for whatever reason.

lol....i find the steering ok...a tad heavy but ok....the mrs is complaining....
thanks for all the help i will look at the links....why is a corsa b power steering twice the price as a corsa c?
do i need the speed sensor...if so...can i just put it to half way and leave it there.....the mrs will get awfully confuessed if she has to alter that as well as change gear, accelerate, brake, mirror, phone, turn radio up, wave at friends....you get the picture

Power steering on a mini? Whatever for?
I had a 1991 Ford Orion 1.6i Ghia with no p/s and 17" wheels. Still not a problem. You just have to learn how to maneuver at low speeds. Power steering is a recent thing and has altered how we drive. We can now easily turn the wheels on a stationary car (and scrub the tyres). Thats not really how to drive is it?

The standard Mini steering is what helps to make it the genuine Classic Car that it is. It's not meant to be like a modern car with little steering feel and low steering wheel loads like, say, a Jaguar or a Fiesta. It's part of the 'Mini Experience' - i.e. basic & fun.

just read other threads and seems like i have opened a can of worms....for what its worth....i have had minis for 20 yrs and never had a problem...got married and now it seems a problem....thing is...if i can keep the mrs happy (with power steering) she can drive a mini and i dont get earache. hence i can go on and potter around with minis happily.
all i wanted was a little advice...i must admit though....running 13 wheels with todays tyres is a tad harder than 10's and a big steering wheel...maybe i am just getting old
