Hi

Thanks to you guys here on the forum I got my Mini back on the road, but now I have to adjust the valve clearance, as it is currently very noisy. There's massive noise at tickover, coming from under the rocker cover, so I guess the clearance is set to high.

It is an A+ 1380cc engine with 1.3:1 roller rockers and a 285 cam. I read it should be around 16 thou. Can someone confirm that? Moreover I think there are different clearances for inlet and exhaust valves.

Could someone help me out here with some figures?

14-16thou..........order 1 closed ajust 8, 2-7, 3-6, 4-5, 5-4, 6-3, 7-2, 8-1.....best way to ajust is remove spark plugs pop into 4th gear.....and pull the car forward untill one valve is fully closed then ajust ............good luck
