It *looks* like an old design of H4 headlight. (it has a high degree of refraction design on the lens, so won't be that "modern". I'm afraid i'm not up on my history of collaborations between Lucas and Cibie though. IIRC, Cibie did manufacture in Belgium though before they became part of Valeo (who I believe are actually based In Belgium). I've certainly not seen one before with that type of lens design in the centre!

Where does it say Lucas? On the lens, or a label?

Is it a mk1 reverse light? :genius:

Probably why you found it in the boot and why theres only one and why its highly refracted

So its not a headlight :ermm:

Naah. It's got the inbuilt sidelight. No point on having that on any other function lamp apart from a headlamp!

Is there a part number on that Cibie label?

grr i hate being proved wrong

The lens is the same pattern as a Lucas foglamp, but I can't think why that would have a sidelight window.

Am I right in thinking that it has the two beam adjustment screws, and that those aren't mini colours on the wiring (if the wires are original).
