Hey guys, wondering if you could help me out...............AGAIN!

This week my my car isn't running so great. When I drive it it seems to shudder below 3000rpm and has very little power. I have to bring the revs right up to at least 4rpm before changing gear and even then it doesn't have the power. It doesn't sound too good either, sounds like its being restricted. I have a slight feeling that it may be something to do with the distributor. I would ask the father but sadly he's on holiday.
Any ideas?

Thanks in advance
Adam

Inspect all ignition parts: earth strap, dizzy clamp, coil connections, dizzy cap, HT leads. Try a different coil and replace points and condenser or, if you have the later leccy dizzy, try a different ignition module.

As above, check the ignition. Do the symptoms change when different loads are put on the engine?

Check that you're getting a spark on all plugs.

we had a good look in work just now and one of the mechanics has come to a conclusion that something has gone inside the engine such as a valve seal. Thankfully I'm halfway through building my new engine so I think I'll crack on with that instead of trying to fix this engine. Thanks for replies guys

Oil in dash pot?

Did you check this?

I doubt a valve seal will cause any shuddering! a bit of smoke from the exhaust maybe but not the symptoms you describe.
