My insurance on the mini is due to run out next month and I'm in two minds what to do, its originally a 998 but as of this week its going to have a 1275 fitted, it also has 13" wheels and bucket seats- currently I pay £584 fully comp with elephant for me and my gf with the standard 998. I have been driving for 3 years and have 2 years NCB.

does anybody have any experience of insuring a mini that has been changed to a 1275 and did it cost considerably more?

or I may take the car off the road until December when I am 21 and put it on a classic car policy, roughly what sort of prices are people my age paying for classic car insurance on their minis?

I know the best way is to phone around and I will do at a later date, but I just thought I would ask around what you guys out there around my age are paying to insure your minis to get a rough idea on how much its going to cost me? and which insurance companies you recommend?

Matt

Its difficult to give a figure as insurance prices vary so much but putting in a 1275 under the age of 21 will put it up a fair whack. I paid £800 for agreed value insurance at 21 with a list of modifications as long as my arm including a 80bhp 1275 in place of the original 40bhp 998.
