I have recenty had my subframes shot blasted and have painted them myself with a primer base and a black metal paint coating.

The finish is really good but does the metal paint give enough protection? Would it be advisable to finish the job with a laqure or simular to give a bit more protection against any possible fuel spillages etc.

What have people fount best in the past?

Plenty of coats is about as good as it gets in my opinion. The thinner outrigger sections do flex as they are spot welded and any paint seam will split. Mine have and I have only just done them so will be adding more protection with waxoil too.
