yeh i purchased it from the chap and unfortunatlly he died in the time between me putting the deposit down and collecting the car i was shocked to say the least. Their is a restoration thread on here somewhere but i cant find it i spent two years restoring it when i was 16 the bodges definatlly ran deep of the top of my head it was various patches on the floor whole new front end scuttle repairs new door and bootlid new rear valance and new cills then a full respray got any pictures of it back then?

Yeah, it was really tragic. He was well known in the local mini scene and had a young family I'm lead to believe. The repairs you mention tally up with what I remember. The guy I bought it from lived in Hitchin, and had a couple of bumps, the rear panel on the offside was butchered if I remember right? He had drilled multiple holes and covered it in filler. The nail in the coffin for me was the fact he'd replaced the clutch and failed to tighten the centre bolt properly. So I was left with essentially a non runner not long after passing my test. So I just gave up, I'm just glad it fell in to good hands and you gave it the tlc it deserved. I think I may have a couple of pics I'll have to try and hunt them down.
