Bourne, Lincolnshire, England, home of former F1 team British Racing Motors (BRM), will again, as in 1999 be closing its streets to celebrate its Grand Prix heritage. To commemorate 50 years since Graham Hill won the F1 World Championship for BRM there will again be F1 cars pounding through the streets of this small market town. More details can be found at www.brmday.co.uk

The event is particularly close to my heart as my Uncle was part of Graham’s team when he clinched his first F1 title.

Damon Hill has promised to attend despite his F1 Sky commitments and there are more developments to come between now and 7 Oct 12.

They will be running a 10-Lane replica of the East London track in the Conservative Club on North Street, where the F1 cars will be entering the braking zone to turn round and make the return journey. The Donington Grand Prix Collection has kindly offered free passes as prizes to both Adult and Junior winners of the event.

The track should look something like this…

I hope many MiniForum Members will be able to attend what promises to be a superb day

I know this is not fully mini related but there will be era cars there on display... inc mini's.

Cheers

Rob

Shame i've moved away from the area. We went to one of the earlier BRM days a few years ago when they let the BRM V16 beastie out through the high street. The back wash from the exhaust was something else.
