The CV joints from minispares do not come with any grease. The rover service manual says to pack the joint with 1oz of Duckhams Bentone Grease Q5795.

Having checked the internet I see that BP own them but nothing is made under this name anymore. I was going to use moly grease as I thought that was suitiable for CV joints. Is this ok or does anone know where to get the correct grease from?

Moly grease is what normally comes with them, that's what I use.

sorry, not looking for places to buy the moly grease already have some. I was really wondering why the manual say to use bentone grease and not moly as there must be a reason?

The actual grease is important. It is not just moly grease, which is inadequate. The correct stuff was the product of extensive research, and the part number is AKF1457 for a sachet. A moly grease will be expelled from the joint surfaces and end up in the gaiter, due to centrifugal force. The bentonite additive makes it stay in place where it does most good.

Thats beacuse when you change the CV you're not supposed to re-use the old gaiter, but to buy a new one, the correct boot kit (unipart) contains a sachet of the correct grease.

I struggle to see how a moly CV joint grease is unsuitable for the exact type of joint its made for? CV joint grease that is unsuitable for CV joints?!

All CV joints will be spinning round rapidly, so surely all CV joints that have been greased with Moly CV joint grease will suffer this centrifugal force problem?

My thoughts exactly a bit of additive isnt going to stop it spinning to the outside considering the speeds you might be doing.

The CV's I got from Mini Spares came pre-packed with grease. Worth having a look before you go buying any more.
