Rover To Metro Turbo Drive Shafts

anybody know where i can get some drive shafts altered,i have a pair that have been altered in the past but after altering the position on the engine and straightening it up the drive shafts are now toooooo long.
any ideas???

I made some up in the past by turning down the shafts in a lathe to fit tightly into some thick walled seamless tube. I then pushed then together, checked length, tack welded, checked straightness in the lathe then fully welded and checked again. Dont cool with water as you Will make the joint brittle. Not sure what power they Will take, i only ran a 2 litre vauxhall. I also never balanced them .
If you want some proper shafts, try Bailey morris. They produce shafts for all sorts of vehicles and equipment and are very cost effective.

thanks for that,thats near enough exactly what ive done,waiting for the weekend to try them in and tack them up and hope for the best!
im sure their near enough the right size but best double check before the final weld.

No prob, i'm pretty sure i only ever tacked my shafts so that i could see how close to the limit i was. They never broke, so i left then alone. I also heard of soft soldering as the heat involved is low and the strength is exellent if the clearance is not to great..
