Im getting pretty frustrated ive had my mini for nearly 6 years well in november thus making the car 26yrs old, I bought a mini and thought id have something unique custom a 1 off and ive got all the plans for that which i wrote in another topic somewhere but im getting hugely frustrated that im not getting anywhere, the cost of my exterior work would come to £7 - £8k and im only earning 10gs a year.

I would like to do what i want to it but now i just want to get the mini sorted so im thinking maybe going for a whole different style just to get it finnished, but im not sure what id go for.

either that or would it be worth me buying another mini on the cheap that needs a few jobs done thats a blank canvas thats running?

Im really getting frustrated argh!!!!

Know how you feel mate - I wanted to get my self another car, take the mini off the road and then turn it into a blastic road racer. But, alas... money pays a big part in the matter. Your proubly getting alot me then me per week! I only get £50 each week!

And also dosnt help when Im at Uni so thats sucking at my bank account too ;D

Keep on going with it. You don't know how your circumstances will chance and how gutted would you feel if you went for something second best and then came into some money?

I've had my Clubman on my drive for nearly 3 years and I'm only just getting round to sorting it out exactly as I want it. The thing that keeps me going is the image in my mind of me driving it and knowing I never gave up.

Try and do as much of it as possible by yourself, I hate the idea of spending my hand earned cash on paying someone else to do stuff for me.

i've kept mine off the road since i got it (september 2005) all i use for a run around is my wee pedal bike! this allows me to put all my funds (which ain't much!) into the car toget it on the road sooner in the condition i want! but i do see how hard it can be for some when the need a car to do 20+ miles a day!

yeah that was my situation, at my old job i could ride my pushbike with it only being a few miles which meant i could do work to the car. now with a change of job id have to make a 16mile round trip and its all uphill the way there ;D
so in constrast as said you circumstances could change for the better, as jammy said do as much as possible this way you will save on money, also you u will have fun doing it aswell ( well there will be the occasional hiccup but still)and learn alot more about the car.
