Hi All,

Iv got a 99 mpi cooper which iv recently had a lot of work done too, full respray, front end etc.

can anyone tell me when the car was new which cooper badge it would have had.

sorry if the question is obvious, but mini spares says this badge is from 2000 mini's on, so im not sure which mine would have.

Part of a package...cant see nothing wrong in buying one and fitting to the boot though.
I have one brand new laying around somehwere in the badges box.

The Minispares ones are not genuine, if that matters to you. Their font is slightly different and they don't fit too well. I found some genuine ones at Stanford, which you can buy here. They look completely authentic, as they are genuine badges.
Also, beware of Minisport's so-called 'Genuine badges'. I ordered some and they were exactly the same as the Minispares copies - avoid them as they are more expensive and no better quality.

As far as I know, the pre 2000 era MPis did not have the COOPER badge, regardless of model or spec. I have a '99 brochure and there is no mention of optional badges, or the inclusion of extra badges as part of the sportspack.

RSP and Mainstream Coopers had a Cooper rosette sticker on the boot, spi had Cooper (white background) winged badge and 1.3i badge, mpi had winged Mini badge with green centre (and i think) a 1.3i badge.

The Cooper and Cooper sport script badges were only fitted to the runout LE models.

I am certain that they dropped the 1.3i badge for the MPis. I think it was just SPis only that had them.

Thought that was the case, but I've seen them with and without so wasn't 100% sure either way.
