Can anyone help?? We picked up our Mary Quant designer at the weekend and I have come across a button that has been wired in by a previous owner but I have no idea what it does / is for.
It's wired in next to the fog light and has 3 buttons on it. The top button is black with the letter 'S' next to it. The middle button is red and has a 'P' next to it and the bottom button is also black with the letter 'F'.
I haven't pressed any of the buttons yet as I have no idea what they are for.
Your help would be greatly appreciated

as it was something fitted by a previous owner the only way to tell is to try the switches or trace where the wires go

Just contact the previous owner. Simple.

press the button, but If it were me I wouldnt be either sitting in the passenger seat, driving infront of anyone or in a enclosed space, could be some james bond style trickery and either end up being sent through the roof, release an oil spill or smoke screen!
But just press the buttons see what they do? if nothing trace the wiring

It controls the self-distruction system.
Well that would be awkward! Expensive button press!

It controls the self-distruction system.
It's the classic minis rust activator button.......we all have one of those in our mini *door falls off in the background*
