Bit more info...
Does it cancel manually? What exactly happens when you indicate right, both flash - only left flashes? Does it turn off if you turn the ignition off? What age or style of stalks?

Most likely worn contacts on the stalk.

it doesnt cancel at all no matter what position the stalk is at the left one still carries on. it does turn off when you you turn the ignition off. the style is the one where both stalks are on the same unit.

Probably needs a new unit ?

If you cant see what is wrong ryan. Pop up to me and i will take a quick look for you and see what the problem is, then you can decide to either fix it yourself or request my services. If it is as suspected, it will be a new stalk required, you cant just buy the indicator part. But i may be able to get it working for you depending on the problem.

Well it's the indicators (not dodgy hazards) if it goes off with the ignition. The light green/brown wire, supply from the flasher, must be permanently connected to the green/red, left indicators. You could unplug the multi connector coming out of the column, if that stops it flashing the fault is to the stalk side. It might be the red/white wire has broken off or it could be the contacts have fused together, or worn into a groove they can't get out of. A soldering iron, or needle file / emery board may fix it, if only temporarily.

As Ethel said, unplug the stalk plug and if this proves its the stalk, take it off and bring it to me, i can either attempt to sort it albeit maybe temporarily, or lend you another until you can source a replacement. Minijosh may have one if you need it?

a miracle happened this morning and it started wrong again i was fiddling with wires trying to find the right coloured ones and it went off and it works fine now, probably only a temp fix but as long as it gets through it MOT retest tomorrow it should be okay !
