On Sunday was doing Mouth 2 Mouth Run and unfortunately didn't finish it because the Coil fell off damaging the distributor in the process. Have since had an automotive electrician out and had identified the electronic ignition module as the cause of the problem. My Distributor is a 59D but am unsure whether it is a standard lucas or a Modified Aldon type? is there any way to tell. (Attached is a Picture)
Secondly depending on what brand of distributor it is what would be the best way to go. Have also been told that my Coil is not the correct one for use with electronic ignition. Would the best way be to get an Aldon Flame Thrower coil and a new Aldon Yellow Distributor or a coil and replace the ignition module in my current distributor.
Engine is a MED Road Competition 1380 with Piper 285 cam.
