Its always better to over power then to under power a sub.

And if you truely are looking to run 1000 watts RMS of bass, 😱 you will need to upgrade the cars power supply and invest in quite a bit of sound deadening...

This would be a better choice:

Assuming you have a JBL GT4 12 inch, it's RMS is only 250 watts and 1000 watts peak, the amp in your link will work, however if your only running one sub your better off with a bridgeable amp. You want to try to match your RMS rating on your sub to an Amp that can put out the same or more as long as it doesn't exceed the Peek rating. If you go beyond your peek, your risking a blown sub.

An old genesis profile 4 or JL 250/1 for similar price to that JBL above :)

Second hand I would!
An old genesis profile 4 or JL 250/1 for similar price to that JBL above :)
Genesis Profile Sub would be great for that sub. They can go for very good prices, got mine for about £90, I would say a far better amp than the JBL amp...
There is one on eBay for for £99 and it comes with a sub level controller, which don't come up very often.

I have one and its brilliant, coupled with my JL w3 10" sub. Very hard hitting!
