I'm building a 2 seater convertible / round-tail pickup - Jynx
for the IVA , will I definitely require a roll over bar ? several new convertibles don't have a mid one ,
I will be fitting a lower b-post bulkhead brace , & a post front screen pillar uprights & usual convertible reinforcements
just wondering if a rollover bar is required ?
I want to fit the minimum for the IVA - (if it ain't there it can't fail theory)
Thanks

If you say some modern convertables done use them. im supposing they have to have a certain angle from the windscreen to the rear most point of the car. meaning if it landed on its roof the screen would support the weight of the vehicle and the rear most portion of the car would also support it as such to allow room for occupents to stay safe.
mid-way hoops just behind the occupents often dont have to be as high because the angles they require to protect the passengers doesnt have to be so great.
Screen in a mini is never going to be strong enough. even if you bulked it up a bit. Modern cars (often) have beefed up A posts as well as a dog-leg support which joins up to the A-post above the screen. they are designed from the off to support vehicle weight hence why cabro's always weigh more than the hard top counterparts.
Im not sure myself if the IVA people have enough expertise to cast the verdict of the screen supports. weather they will be strong enough to neglect propper roll over supports mid-body

I've been digging , but found nothing
May end up as low bar for top seat belt mount , at shoulder height
then after IVA will put roll hoops on top
got to buy seats to find position anyway
The IVA seems vague on a lot of things - until you go for the test
(
- thanks again ...
