HI all, i really like the look of Mk1 door handles and i would like to put them on my mini, which is a Mk3. is this possible. Thanks.

I've been thinking about doing this, But it would involve a lot of modifcation, The catches are completely different, The mk1's being like a house door handle ( I think). There is also a dip in the mk3 door's handle but on the mk1 door's it's smooth.

It's yet another "yes but only if you've got the skills and time", definitely not a bolt on job.
The really tricky bit would be deciding if you were going to use the MK1 or MK3 door locks. If you stuck with the MK3 lock you have to do something interesting on the back of the handle to open the door but if you went with MK1 locks you'd need to modify the door frames.

mine are being a right pain in the arse at the moment.
Where my drivers door has been open so many times over the last 45 years it has started to "sag" if that makes sense. When the door is shut and not locked the handle doesnt sit vertical, it sort of droops.
Really freaking annoying!

Ive managed to convert my door to run mk1 handles and fill in the door dip however discoverd small pinholes in the bottom so will need reskining pictures are on my restoration still have more recent ones to update with the interiour door handle
