I am looking for a set of four studs to fit the early top pillars of a Mk. 1 front sub-frame (two each side). They look to be 3/8th at one end and 1/4 at the other. I don't know what thread pitch they are. Anyone have a source or reference number please?
Even better, anyone got a set of four good ones to sell!

Sorry to bump so soon but the post is almost off page two already! I am sure someone here will have the answer, which will be much appreciated.

Thanks Barman. I think it's going to be a right sod trying to replace the studs with bolts - when the four original studs are fitted to the sub-frame it makes it easy to push the sub up and into the four locating holes. I fancy it will be a lot harder to drop the bolts in from above and find the threads.........

could you not use some threaded bar as a replacement to studs?

Unfortunately not. The studs are 3/8th at the lower end and 1/4 at the top. I guess they really need cutting on a lathe but I don't have one!

what about welding the two sizes together, or is that a little too bodged unsafe?

Not impossible but not too sure I would trust my welding there.

Somerford are listing them as obselite so unless you can find some second hand you will have to revert to bolts I think
