Can't do that, not enough thread as I said in my previous post, and what is left looks like it has stripped too so don't want to get two nuts stuck on
so you've managed to strip the thread right at the very end of the stud? how, surely there wasn't any resistance?
Then as was said before, just work at it until it becomes a circular piece of metal and slide the bolt off... it may take a age, but if your not will to take things apart, i don't know what else to suggest! Sorry

Think I will perserver with coopman and others that told me to keep turning it, seems like I am making a small amount if progress but at least it saves me taking the head off

Was barely moving and I thought it wasn't going to work when all of a sudden it gripped and the nut came off. Now where's my molegrips?!?
