after a long engine rebuild ive made a school boy error and didnt label 3 wires

the car is an 82 998, with the starter solinoid on the wing.
here goes, the coil has 3 wires that attach 1 of which i remembered were it goes, one but have 3 wires left so i no 2 go to coil and 1 to oil pressure switch

1 wire connects to the starter solinoid
then the other 2 are part of the main loom near dizzy cap and one shorter than the other,

does any one have picture of the wiring please must be early starter motor type cheers

is two of them the horn? i think there should be a purple wire and a purple wire with a black tracer for the horn

whats the colour codes of them i'm sure someone will know what they are if not i can look them up, i've got a wiring diagram somewhere.

i no which thw horn is, that fitted. the two in the main loom are white and white/black

don't do this untill someone else confirms it but i think the white goes to the + of the coil and the white black goes to the - side or its the distributor earth

cool thanks, been trying them different ways and got car goin, but very dim oil pressure light

The 2 joined black and white wires go from the coil -'ve to the distributor and on to the rev counter through the loom. There is a thinish all white wire which is a sensor wire for the left hand side of the engine. Yellow and white goes to the solenoid and +'ve side of the coil.

1982 should be a non ballast sytem

White goes to coil positive

white/black goes to coil negative,

White/brown is oil pressure switch

purple/black is horn

green/blue is water temp sensor

If the looms original the only wires going to the solenoid

Should be

White/red from ignition to energise solenoid

Browns to battery terminal on solenoid

Brown/blue to battery terminal on solenoid

Larg cable on other threaded terminal to starter motor

cheers guys ^^^^ i thought i was along the right lines but didn't want to give minimad the wrong advise and they start a fire..!!

ive got two doble jointed wires, (ie two wires into one spade) one i no is correct ( white and a white black) The other ( carnt remember colour) goes to to solinoid on wing, then there is two other wires coming out loom and one is white/brown i think this is shorter wire and a white one, when wirinhg them i can get a very dim oil light ?????? or if i swap them about get a bright light but have to leave a wire off What am i doinng wrong

white/black is coil negative and also the wire to the distributor...these shouldn't go to the solenoid

the other double wire (not white/white blk) goes solinoid, sorry mate i struggle with colours

if there is a double wire and one is white/black then that should not attach to the solenoid, if it does its wrong, only time a double wire used on white/black is another whote/black goingto the dash for a rev counter

maybe take some photos
