Hey all,

I know when people ask "what oil should I use?" the general reply is a mineral 20w50, but for those of us in colder climates where that is not possible I have found a 10w40 synthetic that doesn't have any friction modifiers and is designed to work with wet clutch transmissions. Plus has high zinc and other anti-wear additives

Does anyone have any experience with this product? Or have any thoughts?

No experience with that brand, but being reccomended for motrcycles (engine and box share the same oil as in a mini) it should be fine.
I've been using unipart 10w40 (its a semisynth) in cold climates, below zero, snow etc..i've found it good. I use a ZDDP oil additive with any engine oil.

I have used Amsoil oil in my car and had no problems, but I stopped using it when I read........................and this is where my memory struggles.....I do not think any of their oils are actually certified. It reads that way, that it is but the bottom line is, or something like that, it is not, I think!!!! I don't want to put you off because many swear by Amsoil, I also remember a truck company in USA running the oil for 250,000 without an oil change and it still tested OK after that mileage. Personally I would email them first with your requirements and see what they have to say.

The issue with Mini oils isn't engine wear, it's gearbox wear.
