My wife recovered some seats for me years ago and used a standard home sewing machine to do it, what we done was strip the seat to be recovered, un pick all the stitches to separate the panels, and use them as templates for the new material. once all cut out stitch back together and stretch it all on job done.
Dont forget you need to allow for the sag in the original seat material so you will need to make the new panels slightly smaller to stitch together otherwise it could be a bit baggy.
i say do it if you have some spare seats its not that hard i done all the un-picking and cutting and the wife worked her magic on the sewing.
