Is it + to + on the coil and - to - ? What is the "trigger blue" for ?

What type of speedo is it and what colour wires do you have in the dash or is there none at all?

Noah is correct, and the trigger goes to the white/black on the distributor side of the coil. You can pick up the positive supply from any plain green wire, not light green (ignition controlled and fused) and negative goes to ground, any black wire behind the dash will do.

Assuming it is a negative earth car, it is the coil negative terminal, which as I said should have the white/black wire on it, if the coil is connected correctly. The positive terminal will have either a plain white (non-ballast) or pink/white (special ballast resistor wire) and white/yellow (ballast bypass for starting) on it.
