the normal key situation is the big one for ignition the small one with a straight top edge for door and boot locks and the medium one with grooves on both sides for petrol cap

very strange that the fuel cap key does the door locks as well, what does your petrol cap look like.

It's all black and sticks out with the key hole and that's it. The medium key you describe does the doors and fuel cap on mine! The keys are exactly as you describe. While we are on this subject the passenger door lock has clearly never been used and seized solid. You can't even get a key in it. Any tips on freeing it up?

I have one for my old ignition, one for my new ignition, one for drivers door, one for passengers door. One for my old fuel cap AND one for my new fuel cap.

I have just bought a cooper mpi 2000. Are they supposed to have three keys? I have one for the ignition, another for the door locks and a third smaller key for the boot lid.
All our Cooper Sport 500's had 3 keys....its da norm

I also have a key for the bonnet as I have lockable aerocatches fitted


*****what about the special flat key to allow you to raise the aerial?
