I swear when I started looking at wheels for my mini 10x6 steelies were pretty widely available through mini spares etc... now they seem to have disappeared entirely. Did they actually exist or have I gone crazy?! Does anyone know where I could get a set, even if they were a figment of my imagination?

Well first off Coopers never came with 6x10 wheels.

A Weller used to make their own version of a reverse rim that used a standard 10" steel centre with their own hoops either 5", 5.5" or 6" wide. These have never been common and the only set I've seen were the ones I used to own and stupidly sold.

5.5J steel wheels were available in the 60's/70s. These looked just like reverse rims. I seem to think that mine even have a dunlop stamp on them lik efactory wheels did - although I could be wrond its a long time since I took any notice

Most commonly found with "standard" mini offsets (which would fill wheel arch extensions) although Cooper S offset versions were also available.

If you search ebay they do occassionally come up.

All of the adtermarket wide steels would have had the original centres, as the company who made them would have bought the wheel centres and just made their own rims

Wide steels went out of favour as they are heavy compared to the now widely available alloy ones.
