what need doing to an 8.4" brake set up to get it to 7.9"? has anyone done this before? ive got some 10s and need to get some discs pretty soon.

First you need to check if the type of 10's you have will fit over 7.9's as they won't all work.

Other than that it's just new (alloy) callipers with pads and some discs really as the 7.9's are just 8.4's that have been turned down on a lathe so all other parts are as for the 8.4's. Oh and you'll have to ditch or modify the water shields.

i knew about the machining part but wasnt to sure about how the calliper bolts would line up, ill have to call minispares and ask if their minilifes take the 7.9" then. so if i bought a set of 8.4" ers and some alloy 4 pots id be well on the way then? fingers crossed!
i know that sometimes there is not even enough room for the wheel balancers.
