GT15 and a T2 are one in the same thing, but the GT range of turbos have more efficient turbines. So better to just use a GT15.

unless you want to use the mirage kit, as doesnt the GT range use a difference exhaust downpipe flange; like the GT17?

Well as I remember Mirage now make manifolds for the GT range rather than the T2. Could be wrong though, they're not mentioned on his site.

Not a clue will, i do know kappas turbo from TM and has been on sale on there a few times over the years but never used (for various reason and spec changes). So i think probably when it was done they didnt sell the GT spec. Interesting to know though as i never knew they did that!

Just a quick question relating to this topic. I'm debating going down the turbo route. From reading other peoples posts i am thinking the GT17 would be the turbo for me. If i used a Mirage manifold, would i get away without having to cut the bulkhead? I know you don't with a T2 but i don't know about the GT17. Thanks!

You can fit the GT17 without the bulkhead box. BUT, you cannot ise the Mirage manifold to do this. You need a bespoke manifold making.

Ok then. Is there a company that makes such a thing you know about? Would the turbo still fit in the conventional place or would it be one of those remote turbo's that sits above the flywheel housing or somewhere like that?

give mirage a call, I seem to remember they were looking at changing their manifolds to use the GT17 or similar,

but yes, you can get the gt17 doen the back of the engine without a bulkhead box.

So if my turbo is a hybrid of a GT15/T2 with 360 degrees thrust bearing, then can I use my mirage manifold that I have for it without bulk head mods. Sorry Why I ask this is that I have both turbo and mirage manifold, but have not tried it in my car, as I have to take off all my other manifold and gummins to check it. But if someone can give some advise, I would be greatful.

Generally which turbo is fitted to the mirage manifolds?

Cheers

Bobby

if your turbo will bolt onto the mirage manifold, chances are it will fit ok.
