Basically I am about to start my rebuild and am striping the car down and doing all the bodywork that is needed, however the shell need to be moved in and out of my workshop easily preferably wheels, obviously the shell will be bare, so what have people done to move their shell around ?

dont worry, someone seems to be on the wrong forum

i've just built up a shell dolly for this job, i used some 3x3" (3mm wall) steel box section and welded up a basic frame just bigger than the main floor section, couple of cross sections in it to strengthen it and a heavy duty castor wheel on each corner, i do plan on turning it into a jig at some point by adding all the subframe mounting points so i did make it alot stronger than need be, you can prob get away bu using any scrap you can get your hands on, good luck :-)

Try and blag a (free) bread basket trolley from your local supermarket.

Extremely tough, plastic (to avoid scratching the underside of the car) and 4 wheels.

Works for me!!

I used a pallet and castors too. Bare shell is so light it's easy to wheel around. A trip to a DIY store and a couple minutes with a screwdriver and you have the perfect solution.

I actually used a couple of pallets on top of each other and some other bits and pieces of wood to raise the shell higher, makes working on it easier.

Or you could use car wheel dollies which are £20 each and either sell them afterwards or put your finished car on them, makes it a doddle moving it around the garage!!

now to build a shell movererer

nick a tesco ( or your preffered supermarket brand) trolley and cut off everything above the wheels and lower frame.
make it a bit longer and wider

sorted, and only costs you a quid :D

I'd spit roast the shell, and make a spit on wheels.

Spit makes working on bodywork so much easier, and it'll be in its own frame on wheels

A pallet and 4 casters again. One thing I also used to do was wheel the shell out of the garage, tip the mini onto its side on some old tyres, side the pallet back under and back into the garage. Made welding and painting the floors and sills so much easier.

I put some small castors on my spit, works great for everything. I would say whatever you put castors on get ones with brakes on them. If you're doing any pushing, shoving or sanding on the shell you'll be chasing the damn thing all over the garage!
