Can't find the magazine now so can't tell you the date but I think this was the original designer of the Hi-Lo ?

Great period ad, thanks for posting.

Some interesting info about Tony Chamings in link below.

I wish I had had the forethought to buy something back then, as in 1992 I might have just about stretched to any of those cars (the 1964 Mk1 Cooper S catches my eye as same age as me!) but now I guess a 64 Cooper S in excellent condition would likely be around 35K; I don't really follow the prices of them as they are and have been out of my range for a long time (since 1993!!!  - no seriously I don't know really)

Some google info/maths for you

1992 Average UK annual wage - 13000 vs 9K for the car (69%)

2025 Average UK annual wage - 37500 vs 35K(?) for a car (93%)

I believe the prices were even higher a few years ago; I seem to recall 60K (or more even?) being asked for a good Mk1 S say 2015 where the percentage would have been 214% (26000 average UK annual wage)

You might not see it, cause you are dazzled  but there is a Mini hiding in this ad.
If you manage to look past the lascivious gaze and the liquid tungsten she wears, you will see it.

Yep very nice, but if that is her knee bottom right of the picture all I can say is poor gal.
