Hi guys.
When there is lots of wet weather I get an intermittent fault. Car seems fine when it is dry.
It feels like the clutch is slipping?
When trying to accelerate in the lower gears the car sometimes shudders and it feels like the clutch is slipping? (no idea if this is actually what is happening, but is what I imagine it would feel like :) )
Any ideas as to why this is happening? Or what is actually happening?
Car is a 1989 red flame.
Thanks for any help :) xxx

could by water effecting ignition maybe? points minis are little dodgy in the wet weather. As said, do you have a weather shield fitted?

I sometimes feel the clutch does not slip as smoothly when the atmosphere is very damp in my lorry- different vehicle but similar principal. Does it get better once driven and warmed up?

Thanks guys.
How do I tell if I have a weather shield fitted?
I guess it's a bit of plastic to stop splashes coming up from the road?

With mine,1275cc and a lightened flywheel and stuff, when it is wet out (especially with the coke out) I could go from a stop to having forward motion w/o the tyres spinning. It wasn't like other cars i've driven... it is pretty uneventfully. I just don't accelerate as fast.
U can pull the hand brake, put it in gear, and release the clutch slowly and haft the throttle part way down and have someone watch to see if the tyres spin.
