Hi,

We bought an engine a little while ago and now have a mini to put it in finally, but are interested to see what it actually is.

The casting number starts 12A 497, the head is stamped 12G295 and the engine number starts 10AMWTAH...... and the carb is marked Conversion & Tuning Centre London. It has a remote gear shift. Were were told that it is an 1100cc with a 649 cam...but plan to put the engine into a 70's min. It also has MOWOG in all of the castings.

I remember a little bit so have some ideas, but it would be good to get them confirmed.

Put your engine number into the Guess Works Engine number form and it'll tell you what engine you have.

Edit: 12A engine nmubers means its a 1275...

The casting number has nothing to do with the engine number. It is a 1098cc engine from the Austin/Morris 1100 range.

Edit: 12A engine nmubers means its a 1275...

Its an old engine and I can't seem to get the number to work in Guessworks. I believe its a 1100.

Mine has limited information for the pre A+ engines, as above it's an early 1100 engine either from an Austin 1100 or Clubman Estate.
