hi all,

im having to fit 1inch spacers all round my car to prevent the tyres rubbing against the suspension parts, ive got drum brakes all around. the back was done no problem what so ever but the front is proving a bit more troublesome, ive got the original studs out but how can i get the drive flange brought out to get the studs in without having to take off the whole assembly?

thanks , Adam

It should pull off if you remove the hub nut, though stopping the flange from spinning without the wheel/brake attached will be fun!

as above, to stop it spinning you could try putting the old studs back in, and wedging something in between them and the ground to stop it spinning. But don't do this with your new ones, you'll bend them.

ive got no problem getting the hub nut off its just getting the drive flange off, i think it was a press fit on the drum brakes and ive tried levers and just pulling on it as much as i can, nothing wants to work :-(

The outer bearing runs on the flange so you may well need a puller.
