hi im fitting a set of hs2's to my dads mini and got them all on and everything and now have realised that there isnt a vacuum advance take off on the carbs? i really need to run the vacuum for the sake of good running but how am i going to do it? been told that the take off really needs to be behind the throttle butterfly so where do i go from here?? any help would be appreciated and if its in the wrong section then im sorry but i couldnt start a topic in the relevent section! many thanks

I can't remember if the vac is before or after the butterfly.
If its after, just plum it to the manifold (drill a small hole, sink a small tube into it with fibreglass resin on the outside, sink it in and let it set. Did it on a vac gauge fitting years ago).
If its before, you could either snatch it off the big feed line for the crank case vent.
Both can be done with a drill and some thinkin', maybe a tea or two.

With dizzy ignition, you need to run the vacuum behind the butterfly, but only just. The idea, is that as soon at the throttle is operated just above idle the port is vented to the inlet manifold vacuum.
