+1 for maniflow. What ever spec you've got they normally have an exhaust to suit. Great quality and service maniflow provide.

You engine is almost certainly 1330 cc, not 1340, but that's not really important, although you might like to know.
Best manifold is a large-bore LCB from Maniflow and a Maniflow exhaust system thereafter.

My engine is definitely 1340 and not 1330. I've been told that 3 into 1 manifolds are best. Not sure what kind of size bore to go for either.

What kind of differences from 3-2-1 to 3-1 etc?

How does it get to be 1340 cc? A 1275 bored to +0.060" gives 1330 cc. To get to 1340 requires a stroked crank which would be most unusual as the expense of getting an extra 10 cc would not be worth it. Still, it's not really important, but I thought you might like to know.
A 3-into-1 is best for a 998, but for a 1275 it's generally accepted that an LCB is best. There is, in truth, probably not much difference in power or torque and a standard or big-bore LCB will work so long as the exhaust diameter is 1.75" internal diameter.

^what he says :-)

3-2-1, I suppose, would be another way of describing a LCB (long centre branch). They are the Mini equivalent of 4-2-1 systems found on other engines and are typically used on Rally cars where torque lower down the rev range is more important. Either will work well. A 3 into1 can be less hassle to fit, and keep fitted over speed bumps. Note Cooperman's advice on exhaust sizing, there are plenty of exhausts that are more style than performance.

What is the standard stroke for a 1275 engine?

Spoke to maniflow and ordered a full system today, very helpfull!

Playmini, sounds great, twin box is the optinum noise level, and it annoys everyone on here who thinks 1.75" is God........

Some people like tone aswell as performance, i dont mind sacrifcing 1bhp for the grin factor....
