i think there should only be one wire connected to your dizzy and thats a white one with a black tracer that connects to the negitive side of the coil,

or do you have electronic ignition or somthing?

Trac

sorry just read your post properly, yeah red to the plus and black (i think) to the negitive

You can still use the old wire if you want or just tape it to the loom and use the two wires from the dizzy strait to the coil. The red one gose on the plus side of the coil if I remember and then the other on the other side.

Beat me to it :proud: I could not have said it better. Make sure also that you are using the coil from the metro or any sutable 12volt coil, NOT the one from the original engine which is 9 volt and will burn out pretty quick.

I have a Lucas gold, but also gave a top of the range flame thrower coil if that would be better.

so white and yellow goes to positive on coil and white and black goes to white and black wire hanging from the loom? and I need to run a 12v feed from fuse box to the positive as well

No.

Listen very carefully.

remove existing white/yellow. positive wires from the coil and tape them back out of the way. put a new wire in from an ignition controlled live from the fuse box instead, then the two wires from the metro dizzy connect to the coil plus and minus. use the flame thrower coil for good results
