Had two of these new parts from different suppliers and both have failed within 2 months of fitting!!!! I`m getting really sick of sub-standard parts for these cars. There really is no quality control or testing by the suppliers to see if remanufactured parts are fit for purpose.

I`ve had the same problem with (different) parts for my TR6 from the same suppliers!! WHY WHY WHY WHY can they not supply quality parts that do the job?????? I`m sure most people would pay a bit more knowing you could "fit & forget" knowing the part is good quality??

Right.................. does anyone have, or know of a good quality NOS heater valve for a 1984 998cc City E??? NOT a crappy part from Moss, Mini Spares,Mini Sport etc???

Thanks

Steve.

Get a nice old mk1 brass one! Granted you have to get out of the car to turn your heating on but it's good for me, I got no heater cable!

Will never corrode badly, not much wear and looks ace polished up!

I just fitted an MPI heater take off from the head. No valves, no cables.

If its too hot, I open the window. Too cold, I close the window and turn the heater on.

I had one of these crappy ones fail on me but as I needed the car up and running I re-assembled it and "crimped" the ally edge all round with a hammer and small chisel. Looks a bit like a cornish pasty but has been fine since then.

I dont see the point in a cold blower anyway

My cable is broken so I manually pulled mine to HOT and remember not to pull it cause you cant push it back via the cable

Barely use it tbf, just wrap up :D

It is the second Heater valve to do this, just comes 'uncrimped' at the end allowing water to leak.
