i agree i would rather it was as original as possible, but having had a few track toys in the past i do think it would be great to have a car of this type and era in full track spec, with all the right age related stickers.
a maestro would be better thyough i think, does anyone recall the original bill board posters for the maestro turbo?
it had a picture of a green maestro, with a tag line on it that read "the golf gti will be along in a second" as it was quicker 0-60, thats one in the eye for the germans.

i bidded £2000 for it on ebay but went for £2150, back then it seemed like a fortune but i wish i kinda bought it now.
if a mint red one came along again i think i could be tempted.
it would have to be totally unmolested.

All Montegos should be burned alive at the stake....
I worked at Horners Rover in Manchester for a while, years ago. They had a 7 day money back guarantee on all their second hand Rovers. Guess which one kept on getting returned ? Coincidentally a co-worker owned a 2.0 Turbo and loved it

He/she probably had very low standards!! Lol
All Rover cars beginning with Ma, Me & Mo should be destroyed at the first opportunity
