Anyone ever thought about building mental cars just purely for shows? Like no doors, no windows, ridiculously wide wheels, roof chopped to the extreme? Etc things that normally mean its not suitable for public highways, but still driveable around shows just to be different?

Just an idea that came to me last night, seeing as most shows are on private land

Just a though

Sounds like effort building a car that you cant use. Plus, how do you drive a car with no windows? :/ isn't that just a box?

Kinda like Bowie's Chrome mini then

I would rather have a show car that cannot drive than a modded car that can barely drive.

If you take away the functionality of the car, it becomes a piece of art.

I beleive a car should be exctly that, a method of transport. It hurts to see crashes like the Group C Le Mans cars destroyed in races like the Le Mans classic this year, but they were built to be used... what is a car if it just sits with no purpose? Waiting for the owner to pass until it sits in that same spot until it's days are lumbered. I think you should use a car no matter how beautiful it is, if it was supposed to be a peice of art it'd be on a plinth, and its hard to enjoy it like that. Use it, abuse it and if you really love it you'll bring it back to life everytime it needs it. Is building a car and maintaining it as a possesion for however long you chose not a form of art in itself, I think so.
