So I'm thinking about replacing the points/condenser/distributor cap on my 1100 clubman, but before I order any parts I need to know what distributor I have... so if someone could let me know how to tell it would be greatly appreciated.

Ive attached a pic.. sorry about quality, but thought it might help.

Thanks in advance.

Okay so I took a photo of the side of the distributor where it appears the part numbers are stamped into it. Ive edited the photo to make the writing as clear as possible. could someone please tell me which codes mean what? thanksAttached File  photo-1.jpg   55.91K   16 downloads

As shown in your last picture, the model/curve is a 41254 distributor. The other two numbers (44 75) indicate it was made the 44th week of 1975.

Canadian Marcel Chichak put together a very comprehensive Excel spreadsheet for Lucas distributors. I Googled for it and found one copy at the following link. I don't know if this is the most current iteration of the database or not but your distributor is in there. Search for 41254 and you will find this is a 25D4 distributor that was supposed to be used only up to 1974 on 998 engines. But yours clearly has a date of 1975.

Regardless of the initial application or the conflict between the stampings on your distributor and the database, this is a 25D4 distributor and you can order your ignition parts for any 25D4 and be OK. Do not order parts for the similar 23D4 as they frequently have different points fitted.
